            In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 129 C of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962 read with Section 35 D of the Central Excise Act 1944 (1 of 1944), the President of the Customs, Excise & Gold (Control) Appellate Tribunal constituted an additional Southern Bench at Bangalore w.e.f 14.12.2000. 

            This Bench shall deal with all the matters arising within its jurisdiction and such matters as can be transferred to it under a general or special order of the President.  The revised jurisdiction of the two southern regional benches and the location of the benches are shown below:
